Our Story

Overcoming Faith Church (OFC) was founded in 2006 by the visionary leadership of Bishop Peter Ndungu and Rev. Faith Ndungu. Their deep faith in God and a passionate commitment to spreading the message of Jesus Christ laid the foundation for what has grown into a vibrant and dynamic community of believers.

Starting with our Mother Church in Githurai 45, our humble beginnings marked the start of a journey that has seen the establishment of several branches across the region. In 2009, we expanded with the opening of our Thika Road location, which now serves as our Headquarters. Since then, we have been blessed to open additional branches in Kimbo Ruiru, Kenol, Mariani, Kamulu, Karugia, and Githurai 44, each serving as a beacon of hope and faith in their communities.

At Overcoming Faith Church, our Vision is clear and profound: “Raising an army of faith that overcomes the world” (1 John 5:4). We believe that through unwavering faith in God, we can face and overcome the challenges of this world. Our vision is to cultivate a community where every believer is empowered to experience victory through their faith and to be a light in the world.

Our Mission

Our Mission is to fulfill the Great Commission by:

• Equipping Believers for Ministry: We are dedicated to providing spiritual tools, knowledge, and training for believers to serve effectively in their callings.
• Training in Leadership: We strive to develop leaders who are not only skilled and knowledgeable but also deeply grounded in faith and committed to making a positive impact.
• Raising Godly Families: We support and strengthen families through biblical teachings, offering guidance for building loving and Christ-centered homes.

Our Faith Statement

At the heart of our belief is our Faith Statement: “I have faith in God, the overcoming faith. For with God all things are possible. Victory is mine in Jesus’ name. Jesus is LORD!” We hold firmly to the conviction that faith in God brings victory and that Jesus Christ is the Lord of our lives.

Our Core Scripture

Our guiding scripture is 1 John 5:4: “For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.” This verse encapsulates our belief in the power of faith to triumph over the trials and challenges we face.

Our Doctrinal Beliefs

We are an Evangelical Pentecostal Church that is deeply rooted in the teachings of the Bible and the work of the Holy Spirit. Our ministry encompasses:

• Upward Ministry: Worshiping God through a life of holiness and reverence.
• Inward Ministry: Building fellowship within the local church that upholds sound doctrine.
• Outward Ministry: Reaching out to the lost with the message of Jesus Christ.

We are committed to obeying God’s Word, seeking the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and glorifying God in all that we do.
