The Office of The Holy Spirit By Bishop Peter Ndungu, Overcoming Faith Church (The House of Faith) Beloved in Christ, What a glorious beginning we had on African Celebration Sunday—filled with laughter, joy, testimonies, and a powerful teaching that laid a foundation on one of the most important doctrines every progressive believer must understand: The Office of the Holy Spirit. If there is a teaching I desire for every believer to grasp, it is this—know the Holy Spirit, walk with Him, and yield to His office in your life. Without Him, we can do nothing. With Him, we can do all things. Who is the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit is not an “it.” He is a Person—the third person of the Trinity, co-equal with God the Father and God the Son. He was present at creation: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth… and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. Then God said…” (Genesis 1:1-3). When God speaks, the Spirit moves. The Holy Spirit is part and parcel of God’s creative and redemptive work. The Six Forms of the Holy Spirit The Holy Spirit manifests in diverse ways according to the need of the hour: The Wind – “Then he said to me, ‘Prophesy to the breath… and breath came into them, and they lived.’” (Ezekiel 37:9-10 NIV) The Spirit moves as the wind when the Word is spoken. When you release the Word, the Spirit goes to work. The Fire – “Then the fire of the Lord fell…” (1 Kings 18:38 ) At Pentecost, tongues of fire rested on each believer. This fire consumes everything that is not of God and ignites holy passion. The Oil – “So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him…” (1 Samuel 16:13) The oil represents the anointing. Without the oil of the Spirit in your life, you remain dry. With it, you are transformed into a new man. The Water – “…where the river flows everything will live.” (Ezekiel 47:9) The Spirit flows as living water, bringing life, healing, and multiplication wherever He moves. The Rain – “He will come to us like the rain…” (Hosea 6:3). The rain signifies visitation and refreshing. When God pours His Spirit, barren seasons end. The Flame – “Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up, this was no ordinary fire, it was the Holy spirit.” (Exodus 3:2) The Spirit appears as flames that refine, empower, and consecrate us for God’s service. This Month’s Call In this month of Holy Spirit Empowerment, we shall learn about: The empowerment of the Holy Spirit The baptism of the Holy Spirit Walking in the Spirit The gifts of the Spirit The Holy Spirit as our witness By the end of this series, you shall be filled, refilled, and overflowing in the Holy Spirit. Your prayer life will ascend to another level, and your walk will be marked by the power of God. I urge you: Do not stand at the edge—be filled with the Spirit. Fan into flame the gifts of God in you (2 Timothy 1:6). Be so drunk in the Spirit that you walk into your breakthrough naturally. As we step into September—The Month of Holy Spirit Empowerment—prepare your heart for deeper encounters. May you walk in fire, overflow in living water, and experience the rain of His Spirit upon your life. RENEWAL AND SPIRITUAL EMPOWERMENT As we draw closer to Easter, our hearts are stirred by the message of the cross—a message of renewal, power, and purpose. Easter is not just a season on the calendar. It is a call to realign our lives with the sacrifice, the suffering, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. A Call to Spiritual Strength “We cannot be believers who are weak and unaware of our Savior. Many are forsaking Him at the slightest discomfort. This ought to change.” True renewal begins with knowing Jesus deeply. Not just quoting scriptures but knowing Him personally. As the Apostle Paul passionately declared: Philippians 3:10 – “That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death.” Paul had many wonderful encounters with God, but still yearned, “I want to know Him.” This should be the desire of every believer—to seek Him more than we seek money, fame, or even approval from men. Seek Him More Than Anything We must re-examine our time and our treasures. Where does our attention go? Who are we really pursuing? “Seek the One who created time, yet lives outside of it.” Seek the One who owns the world and its fullness. Those who know God intimately walk in strength, confidence, and power. Because He lives, we can face uncertainty, sickness, and even death—unafraid. The Power of the Cross Jesus died not to make us religious, but to give us a new life. “If anyone be in Christ, he is a new creation. Old things have passed away.” Forgiveness is not a distant hope—it’s our present reality. “Happy is the man whose sins are forgiven.” (Psalm 32:1) This is why we celebrate Easter. Not because of the cross alone, but because of what came after—Resurrection Power! “We will never die; those who believe in Him will live forever.” – John 11:26 The Fellowship of His Suffering Jesus suffered. Paul suffered. The apostles suffered. And you will too—not because God is absent, but because He is working in you. “Pure gold comes through fire. So must your faith.” Don’t run from the fire. Walk through it. “God does not take us over the fire, He takes us through it.” Even in the fire, like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, He is in there. You are not alone. We must stop trying to rescue everyone from the cross—they must carry their own. Even Jesus carried His. Love, Forgiveness & the Heart of the Father Our faith is built on love and forgiveness. Without these, the cross loses meaning. Forgiveness isn’t weakness—it’s spiritual strength. “If you want to live a miserable life, choose not to forgive.” Forgiveness is freedom—for you and for those who have wronged you. Parents, children, friends—let love lead. Show mercy as God has shown you. Remember Peter? He denied Jesus, but Jesus restored him. And on his first day of ministry after restoration, 3,000 souls were saved. “Those who believed what Peter said were baptized and added to the church that day—about 3,000 in all.” Acts 4:21 “Remember God doesn’t condemn you—He welcomes you back. There is always a comeback with God!” Easter is About the Cross… and Beyond Being a believer means carrying your cross. There is joy beyond the pain. There is glory beyond the cross. As we approach this Easter, let’s not just remember what Jesus did—let us walk in the power of it. “He died on Friday, but Sunday brought good news. Pain must come before joy.” “Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.” “Because He rose, I will rise again!” Let this be your season of renewal. Let your spirit be empowered. Seek Him. Know Him. Carry your cross with joy. For the resurrection power is in you. In His Service Bishop Peter Ndungu General Overseer Overcoming Faith Church
HOLY ASSEMBLY MARCH EDITION

Greetings Ministers and Leaders, As we step into the new month of March, we embrace a season of diligence—a divine call to unwavering commitment, faith, and action. This is the year the Lord is settling His people, but the key to divine settlement lies in seeking Him with diligence and working hard. Diligence: The Path to Divine Reward God is not in the business of rewarding everyone—He rewards those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 6:10). Today, many desire breakthroughs, power, and grace, yet remain spiritually lazy—even outsourcing their prayers. But faith without works is dead (James 2:26). If we are to walk in the fulfillment of His promises, we must rise in prayer, service, and consistency. Abraham’s journey of faith (Genesis 12:1) reminds us that obedience activates divine settlement. The heroes of faith endured until they received the promise (Hebrews 6:12). Daniel prayed persistently despite opposition, his prayers were hindered by the prince of the air but God responded. Diligence demands unwavering faith and persistence. Breaking Free from the Spirit of Laziness Many miss their inheritance due to laziness. The promise is available, but diligence is the bridge. Paul urges us to imitate him even as he imitates Christ. True success follows faith, patience, and unwavering pursuit of God. Prayer is work, and it works. This month, we must work out our salvation (Philippians 2:12) and commit to spiritual discipline. Receiving divine impartation is not automatic—it requires preparation, stewardship, and faithfulness. March: A Month of Impartation “God has impacted me, and I must impact others through my testimony.” This month, we walk in the overflow of divine grace—what we have received, we must pour into others. Be diligent to the very end because God never forgets our labor of love. Let’s rise, serve, and seek Him like never before! In His service, Bishop Peter Ndungu General Overseer, Overcoming Faith Church.
